Programs
January 5th: Our very own Ellamay Weuste and Susan Oliver will be teaching us about the use of 5" charm squares as well as presenting us with a new challenge that will benefit our host church!
February 2nd: Antonio Munoz of Parsons, Kansas, will be presenting 2 different programs for the morning and evening meetings. The morning meeting will be "One Male's Viewpoint of the Quilting World" and the evening meeting will be "The 5 W's of Mystery Quilts." Feel free to come to both!
March 2nd: Kathy Charvat, award winning hand quilter from Guthrie, will talk to us about her inspiration as well as her hand applique methods.
APRIL 6TH & 7TH: SAVE THESE DATES! Beth Ferrier will be presenting our program on April 6th. We will only have an evening meeting on this date. On the 7th, she will be teaching a workshop for us. Many of you have seen her on Simply Quilts and The Quilt Show. You won't want to miss this entertaining talented quilter! Check out her website: www.applewd.com
May 4th: This is our annual combined business meeting so we will only have an evening meeting. We are also very fortunate to be able to have Marie Bostwick, a New York Times Bestselling Author, present a program "When The Going Gets Tough, the Tough Turn to Quilting". June 1st: Cheryl Pritchett of Ponca City will present both our morning and evening meetings. She will also bring a large supply of Moda precuts for sale.
July 6th: Annual charity quilts sew day for Quilts of Kindness. We will have our usual meetings with announcements and Show-N-Share, then we'll plan to sew on whatever quilt project our committe has for us. We'll be set up for the day, so plan to come and stay as you're able and do what you're able. We'll need pressers, cutters, binders, and cheerleaders!
August 3rd: Julana Winegarten from Bixby will be presenting our program on color in our quilts.
September 7th – Reeze Hanson of Ottowa, Kansas, will be presenting a lecture/trunk show of the newest version of the computer-aided quilting design software, Electric Quilt 7. She will also hold a workshop in the afternoon for 10 lucky participants.
October 5th – Jeannie Drew of Stillwater will show and discuss the process of making her "Story Quilts". The stories and quilts are very moving and will get you thinking about how to tell your own personal stories with your quilts.
November 2nd – Martha Ray of Pawnee will be showing and discussing her Civil War Quilts. She is well known for her study of historical quilts and will get us inspired and ready to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War coming up in 2011.
December 7th – Our annual pot luck Christmas Dinner to begin at 6:00 p.m.
